WHAT TO KNOW ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

Every day should be treated like the 4th of July, so you really can't get on my case for being ten days late to writing about it (due to a technical problem).
Forget about that; for now, try to imagine back in July of 1776, when the Americans had beaten the British and were then focused on explaining their actions by writing their formal declaration of independence. This set off a chain of events, which ultimately led to the formation of a democratic-republic and the writing of the American Constitution. A new nation was established, and we were on the road to prosperity.
And look at today, with Obama's belief that the Constitution is a "flawed document." He swears to defend the constitution, and then goes bashing it. Really patriotic president. But it's not just him; take a look at this disclaimer from a textbook telling people not to be offended by the contents of the written constitution within.
Ridiculous. If this isn't what today's constitutional values would be written as, what is?
